We really can’t stop talking about how much fun we had in Philadelphia a couple weeks ago. The Together Counts team had the honor of sponsoring the Healthy Living Summit for wellness-minded bloggers. It was two full days of feeling like we were surrounded by like-minded people who share our excitement for helping families to get moving together.
Our sponsored activity was a 5K on Sunday morning and while we all met up along the way, it’s worth noting that groups formed for different paces which allowed more people to participate. We thought that was a good reminder that anyone, at any fitness level can get active. So many attendees joined the run and one of our best memories of the Together Counts program to date was the dance party that happened when the crew got to the top of those iconic library stairs featured in Rocky. It’s worth a second look for anyone in need of a little motivation!
We’d be remiss to pass over Saturday, which was the main day of the conference and was packed full of fantastic sessions. Topics ranged from offering tips on how to find balance when traveling, how to use numbers to track progress rather than obsess over it and two truly energizing sessions with “flexitarian” dietician Dawn Jackson Blatner. Jackson Blatner was brought in by Together Counts’ partner PepsiCo/Quaker, and it was thrilling to hear someone so charismatic offer such sound advice. Her approach to action mantras for behavior change was particularly inspiring.
Does your family have an inspirational saying when it comes to activities or balance?
